  • How often should I change my air filter?

    Great Question. The experts here at Rakeman Air suggest changing the air filter in your home every 30 to 45 days during the Summer months.


    During the Winter months, we suggest changing your air filter every 45 to 60 days for the freshest quality air.

  • How long does my A/C - Furnace last? What is the life span of my system?

    The typical life of your A/C and Heating system is about 15 years.


    It can last longer with proper maintenance, although after 15 years, your efficiency is not at it’s finest, and systems this old cost more money to run and repair!

  • Do you know why there is a big water pipe with large valves all over it outside of your business?

    We have certified Backflow installers and testers on staff.

  • Can you install that fancy new pull-out spout kitchen sink faucet?

    We support and stock a wide variety of MOEN and DELTA Faucets and Valves, among other brands. We can install any faucet type you desire.

  • Can you do High Pressure Sewer Line Jetting for apartments?

    Yes we can!


    If roots are a problem, we will use our root cutter head with 3500 psi to remove as many as humanly possible.

  • My toilet keeps running, should I call a repair man?

    Whether its a constantly running toilet, or that kitchen faucet that won’t stop dripping- Rakeman Plumbing can repair those annoying water drips!

  • There is water coming up in my living room, what do I do?

    We do electronic leak detection of leaking udnerground lines!


    We will pinpoint it for you and then give you the option to either re-route the water line or jackhammer the floor up and repair the line.

  • There is a problem with my water heater!

    Do you run out of hot water in the morning? Is your water heater leaking all over your garage floor?


    Does your water leave hard water spots everywhere? What about the hard city water drying out your skin?

  • Do you do video sewer line inspections?

    Does your sewer line keep backing up? Roots? Broken Line? Impacted with grease?


    We’ll use the camera and locate where the problem is and determine how to fix it. The video will determine exactly where or what the problem is, so there is no guessing!

  • Do I need my Duct Work cleaned?

    Yes. However, if you are on top of changing the air filters in your home on a regular basis, and keep your A/C system and Furnace maintained regularly, you should not have to clean your Duct Work!

  • How do I know when my A/C or Furnace needs servicing?

    The experts here at Rakeman Air reccomend having your A/C – Heating system checked twice per year.


    Ideally, the A/C system should be checked in the Spring before Summer hits, and the Heating system should be checked in the Fall before Winter comes around.


    Should you notice any of the below issues, you should call Rakeman Air for service immediately:


    • If you notice certain rooms are not getting reaching temperature
    • Your A/C or Heating system is making unusual noises
    • If you notice leaks- water, oil, etc.
    • If your system is short cycling (shutting off and on)
    • There’s ice on your system

    If you notice any of the above issues, your efficiency goes down while your power bill goes up.

  • What is a MERV rating?

    • M- Minimum
    • E- Efficiency
    • R- Reporting
    • V- Value

    The SEER rating helps you to determine the effectiveness of the air filter you chose. The higher the MERV rating, the more efficient the air filter will be at trapping airborne particles.


    The U.S. Department of Energy recommends a MERV rating of 13.

  • What is a SEER rating?

    • S- Seasonal
    • E- Energy
    • E- Efficiency
    • R- Rating

    The SEER rating is given to A/C Furnace equipment by the manufacturer, so that the owner will know the efficiency of their system.


    The higher the SEER number, the more efficient the system!

  • Do you work with my insurance company?
